Hack Ethernet ADSL Router

Almost half of the Internet users across the globe use ADSL routers/modems to connect to the Internet however, most of them are unaware of the fact that it has a serious vulnerability which can easily be exploited even by a noob hacker just like you. In this post I will show you how to exploit a common vulnerability that lies in most ADSL routers so as to gain complete access to the router settings and ISP login details.

Every router comes with a username and password using which it is possible to gain access to the router settings and configure the device. The vulnerability actually lies in the Default username and password that comes with the factory settings. Usually the routers come preconfigured from the Internet Service provider and hence the users do not bother to change the password later. This makes it possible for the attackers to gain unauthorized access and modify the router settings using a common set of default usernames and passwords. Here is how you can do it.

Before you proceed, you need the following tool in the process

Angry IP Scanner

Here is a detailed information on how to exploit the vulnerability of an ADSL router.

Step-1: Go to http://www.whatismyipaddress.com. Once the page is loaded you will find your IP address. Note it down.

Step-2: Open Angry IP Scanner, here you will see an option called IP Range: where you need to enter the range of IP address to scan for.

Suppose your IP is 117.192.195.101, you can set the range something as 117.192.194.0 to 117.192.200.255 so that there exists atleast 200-300 IP addresses in the range.

Step-3: Go to Tools->Preferences and select the Ports tab. Under Port selection enter 80 (we need to scan for port 80). Now switch to the Display tab, select the option “Hosts with open ports only” and click on OK.

I have used Angry IP Scanner v3.0 beta-4. If you are using a different version, you need to Go to Options instead of Tools

Step-4: Now click on Start. After a few minutes, the IP scanner will show a list of IPs with Port 80 open as shown in the below image.

Step-5: Now copy any of the IP from the list, paste it in your browser’s address bar and hit enter. A window will popup asking for username and password. Since most users do not change the passwords, it should most likely work with the default username and password. For most routers the default username-password pair will be admin-admin or admin-password.

Just enter the username-password as specified above and hit enter. If you are lucky you should gain access to the router settings page where you can modify any of the router settings. The settings page can vary from router to router. A sample router settings page is shown below.

If you do not succeed to gain access, select another IP from the list and repeat the step-5. Atleast 1 out of 5 IPs will have a default password and hence you will surely be able to gain access.

What can an Attacker do by Gaining Access to the Router Settings?

By gaining access to the router settings, it is possible for an attacker to modify any of the router settings which results in the malfunction of the router. As a result the target user’s computer will be disconnected from the Internet. In the worst case the attacker can copy the ISP login details from the router to steal the Internet connection or play any kind of prank with the router settings. So the victim has to reconfigure the router in order to bring it back to action.

The Verdict:

If you are using an ADSL router to connect to the Internet, it is highly recommended that you immediately change your password to prevent any such attacks in the future. Who knows, you may be the next victim of such an attack.

Since the configuration varies from router to router, you need to contact your ISP for details on how to change the password for your model.

WorldIP Plugin on Firefox

WIPmania provides a free WorldIP plugin for Firefox users. The plugin displays up-to-date information about physical location of a Web server you are currently visiting. Plugin is based on API, always returning the most current information.

WorldIP plugin is highly configurable. It can display your own IP address and your location, makes it possible to learn more about the country where a particular server or IP address is located by transferring you to WIP-Map information system.

Why WorldIP is different to other add-ons and services in showing country
• WorldIP often shows different results from similar add-ons, because they are using the database of Maxmind based on whois, but WorldIP displays real geographic location of an IP address. It is easy to check, just trace this IP address.
• Most often users are interested in results on Google’s servers
  Google has data centers located all over the world and shows a website to the user from the nearest server. WIPmania shows the real countries for Google where these data centers are.
  And, according to whois, United States of America (US) is always displayed for Google, because their head office is in Mountain View, California, US
• There are some CDN-Hosters (among them, the largest one is Akamai). They have also servers worldwide and also show the website to the user from the nearest server. WorldIP shows the real country of the server as well, and not the US, AP or EU, like others databases and add-ons.

  For example: “www.seagate.com” is displayed for Japan’s users from the server in Japan (with IP address 59.151.168.134). For users from Canada it is shown from Chicago (96.7.116.134).

• Opera mini uses the proxy servers for Internet access, some of them are located in Norway. WIPmania displays an external IP address and country of these proxies (Norway ), you’ll see by accessing the Internet on your mobile phone, and not the country where you are from.
• If the country is not displayed (Unknown, Asia, Europe ), most likely it happens because:

  a) the IP address is not accessible from the Internet, because of the internal network (corporate or of your internet provider), or

  b) the network is new, so that it is still unknown for all core routers on the planet. (BGP route announcements about the new network can be spread over several hours around the planet).

  с) For the routing to this IP address “anycast” technology is used. Which means, the same IP address is located in different countries. As in the case of the ordinary CDN, the website is shown to the user from the nearest server, with one difference, that all these servers have the same IP address.

Google Serang Balik Hackers Cina

Geram dengan banyaknya serangan yang ditujukan ke Google, akhirnya Google melakukan serangan balik. Ya, google ganti serang mereka yang telah menjahilinya. Tentu dengan sebuah serangan rahasia.

Google Delta Force telah mengidentifikasikan adanya 33 serangan termasuk ke beberapa situs terkemuka. Seperti Adobe Systems, Northrop Grumman dan Juniper Networks. Perusahaan di Amerika jelas kelimpungan dengan banyakanya percobaan hackers. Bila serangan hackers ini dianggap Google telah nyata-nyata disarankan dan didukung oleh pemerintah Cina, Google juga mendapat restu dari presiden Amerika melalui protes formal kenegaraan.

Kabarnya Yahoo! juga menjadi sasaran target para hackers Cina ini. Meski begitu pihak Microsoft masih belum berniat menarik diri dari Cina.

Google toolbar sangat penting bagi webmaster mengapa?? Ya karena dengan google toolbar kita bisa memainkan google seperti violin. Oke to the poin saja, beberapa fungsi penting google toolbar:

1. Kita bisa melihat “Page Rank”

 

Fungsinya:
fungsi ini bagi webmaster, sangat berguna karena kita bisa melihat Ranking suatu halaman dari sebuah website kita juga bisa melihat apakah website ini dapat page rank banyak, sedikit atau bahkan terkena BLACK LIST oleh Google (Wah.. kalau ini jangan sampai deh..)

2. Kita bisa tentukan “Local Search” “search di negara mana saja terserah”

Fungsinya:
coba teman2 ketik google.com di browser, coba perhatikan,,,yg muncul adalah Google.co.id dan bukan di Google.com,
Mengapa? ya karena IP kita berasal dari Indonesia, dan google lebih mementingkan Local Search jadi ya oleh Google request anda google.com di redirect jadi google.co.id kalau anda tetap ngotot ingin pakai google.com anda bisa mensiasati dengan Pakai Proxy Amerika, Tapi tentu saja kita semua tahu kalau kita pakai proxy, speed koneksi internet kita bakal menurun…

Nah dengan Google toolbar anda bisa menggunakan Local search terserah tanpa harus ganti proxy sebagai contoh anda ingin Search Result nya dari negara amerika, ya anda ganti saja search box setting-nya jadi amerika kalau ingin jepang ganti saja jepang, nanti hasilnya jadi google.co.jp

Pengenalan dan Panduan Google Webmaster Tools

Mungkin 90% dari teman – teman semua sudah mengetahui keberadaan Google Webmaster Tools, di sini saya akan mencoba memperkenalkan Google Webmaster Tools beserta beberapa fungsi dari Toolsnya yang penting dan sering digunakan.

Google Webmaster Tools adalah sebuah alat dan media yang digunakan google untuk berkomunikasi dua arah antara pihak google dan kita sebagai webmaster.

Dengan Google Webmaster Tools kita dapat mengoptimalkan proses indexing.
Sebagai contoh apakah anda pernah melihat suatu “website yang memiliki halaman yang dalam”, maksudnya dari:

Halaman Depan -> Category -> Catalog -> Product

Dimana halaman product tersebut tidak mendapatkan link dari halaman depan, bot google pasti akan sangat kesulitan mencapai halaman product untuk mengcrawl nya. Nah disinilah salah satu keuntungan apabila kita menggunakan Google Webmaster Tools, khususnya tools yang bernama “Google Sitemap” dan tentunya kalau bisa anda juga Membuat Halaman Web Menjadi Search Engine Friendly, Fungsi lebih lanjut tentang “Google Sitemap” akan saya jelaskan di bawah ini:

1. Google Sitemap:
adalah sitemap yang berisi daftar url website kita

Fungsinya adalah mempermudah bot google untuk masuk dan mengcrawl, halaman halaman yang telah kita sediakan url-nya di atas

Seperti yang telah saya sebutkan tadi di atas, tentang “website yang memiliki halaman yang dalam”, google bot akan sangat kesulitan masuk dan mengcrawl halaman product, nah karena kita sudah menyediakan URL Halaman Product di Google Sitemap maka google bot mudah mencapainya

Komponen dalam Google Sitemap:

loc         : isi dengan URL anda
lastmod     : isi dengan tanggal terbaru, formatnya th-bln-hari contoh 2007-10-05
changefreq    : isi dengan frekwensi perubahan ex. always, daily, weekly
priority    : tentukan prioritas antara 0.1 – 1.0

ya.. Robot.txt adalah suatu file yang berisi restrict / peraturan yang di tujukan kepada bot / crawler agar tidak mengindek suatu halaman website atau directory atau bahkan seluruh struktur website, tergantung restrict nya, dalam Google Webmaster Tools juga ada Robot validator-nya

3. Link
Pada menu link anda dapt melihat daftar inbound link, internal page, dan anda juga bisa melihat seberapa banyak halaman website anda yang telah di index oleh Google

4. Domain Preference
Domain Preference adalah pemilihan awalan dari domain anda apakah menggunakan “www” atau “tabpa www”

Domain Preference sangat berpengaruh dalam Search Engine Result Page

5. Crawl Speed
Anda dapat menentukan akan memperlambat atau mempercepat frekwensi google bot datang ke website anda, jika anda menganggap google bot terlalu sering datang dan menghabiskan bandwidth, maka anda dapat menurunkan Frekwensi nya

Masuk ke google webmaster tools anda harus punya Google Accounts, bahasa lain anda paling tidak harus punya Google Email

Googlebot mempunyai dua versi Freshbot dan Deepbot

Googlebot adalah robot yang di kirimkan oleh Google untuk mengambil informasi yang update dari website anda,

ya… tentunya jika web anda sudah terindex oleh google

Nah di sini saya akan coba menjelaskan tentang dua versi Googlebot yaitu Freshbot dan Deepbot

Freshbot
Freshbot  meng-crawl website dan mencari fresh content. Freshbot mengunjungi  website yang frekwensi berubahnya tinggi, tergantung seberapa frekwebsi  berubahnya, jika frekwensi content website anda tinggi maka Fresh bot  akan sering datang ke rumah anda, Googlebot hanya mengikuti Href link  dan SRC link.

Deepbot
Deepbot  mencoba untuk mengikuti setiap link dalam sebuah website dan  men-download sebanyak mungkin halaman website anda. Proses ini akan  selesai sekitar sebulan sekali

Nah sangat penting anda memasang script PHP yang saya bikin untuk memasang perangkap “jejak”

Sehingga apabila googlebot datang ke website anda maka jejak nya akan tertangkap dan anda bisa melihat kapan mereka datang…

Penjelasan tentang Googlebot
Googlebot  menjelajahi banyak halaman website dengan cara mengikuti link-link yang  ada. Googlebot mengikuti link-link yang ada sehingga bisa sampai ke  halaman yang lain. Halaman website baru untuk dapat terindex harus  mendapatkan link dari halaman yang lain  yang sudah terindex oleh  google, semisal: halaman A sudah ter-index Google, anda mempunyai  halaman B (yang baru anda buat tadi malam), yang anda lakukan supaya  halaman B dapat ter-index oleh google adalah anda memasang link dari  halaman A ke halaman B paling sedikit dua link (Tips. tapi letakkan 2  link yang menuju halaman B tadi agak berjauhan).

Konsep notebook ini di desain oleh desainer oleh CreativeDNA austria. Prototipe ini adalah mesin tik notebook mewah elegan Vilentine kompak ditemukan dan dirancang oleh Ettore Sottsass dan Perry King pada tahun 1969. Notebook tampak persis seperti mesin tik legendaris dan bukannya lembaran kertas ada tampilan fleksibel melainkan layar notebook yang desain seperti kertas yang. Menarik dan elegan konsepnya!
